Having two rescue dogs I am a little inclined to spoil them. Both had bad starts in life but our lady was rescued when she was only about eight months old. As such her pearly whites are just that and she is now about three. Our lad was a little older when he was rescued and although he is only 5 or 6 now his teeth are not as good. He has recently been diagnosed with a heart murmur and often these sort of conditions can affect health in general. Although I spoil them I do not give them inappropriate foods. The treats they get are dog treats and I usually look for certain ones. I aim to buy products which have less than 30% protein, as any more can make dogs ... Read the complete review

*What are DentaStix?* These treats are designed to help clean teeth and prevent gum disease later in life. They are made by the Pedigree company and a part of a dental range which include these chews and hard chew bones, which I have also reviewed. *The product itself* DentaStix are a medium brown in colour and has a unique 'X' shape which continues throughout the lenght on the stick. This special shape is arkward for a dog to eat so therefore they take more time chewing on it, which scrapes the teeth clean. The chews have a tough, slightly abrasive texture which is enough the clean teeth but not to do any damage to the gums. They are designed to be ... Read the complete review

Pedigree Detastix Are a good idea generally for dogs ove 22lb give one a day and they will clean your dogs teeth thoroughly without abrasive effects. They are chewy stick shaped in a criss cross effect too aid your dogs teeth clensing and he will love them too. Beware though dont over do it, they can give him a runny botty. If overdone. The recommendation is one stick a day but I think you could getaway with once or twice a week if you wanted. Dont feed to puppies under 22lb in weight. Probably wouldn't agree with their delicate tummies at that age I would suggest dogs ove two should be ok though. Anyway pedigree light and tasty denta stix are a good ... Read the complete review

I feel that your teeth are one of the most important parts of your body, and it is the same for dogs! Therefore, you need to look after your dog's teeth, and I think these are the best way to do so! I have a medium-sized King Charles Cavalier, and he loves these treats. They are perfect for him and they keep his teeth in good condition. He is 10 years old now, and has no problem with his teeth at all. His breath is starting to get a bit smelly in the evenings, but that's because we give him one Denta-Stick a day as it is the guideline amount. They come in bright and attractive blue/yellow packets. They have the Pedigree logo towards the top surrounded by a red ... Read the complete review

I have had dogs around all my life and, whilst being attached to them all, I never remember, in the dim and distant days of my childhood, that we did any more than ensured they had their puppy injections, fed them (often supplementing tin food with all our scraps), walked them and treated them to the occasional bath and grooming if they came back stinking of cow manure! Certainly we never cleaned their teeth or took them for regular dental checkups! However, some 8 years ago my present dog, Woody, was diagnosed with a severe gum infection which a course of antibiotics failed to clear. It was then found that the bone beneath had been affected necessitating ... Read the complete review
