Advantages: Good quality, lovely and soft
Disadvantages: Doesn't last very long, fairly expensive
Really I shouldn't be writing this review, as I haven't technically 'tried' Pedigree Jumbones myself, but as my pup Molly isn't the best on a keyboard, I''ll write it in her absence!
Molly is only around a year old, but is an Alsation cross, so is a big dog, and she does like her food! We have an awful time trying to find bones and treats that will last her for more than 2 minutes, as she seems to just swallow everything whole!
It was during one of these times in the pet shop, when I was standing staring at the shelves looking for something to keep her amused for half an hour that I noticed the Pedigree Jumbone.
If you own a dog, you'll know Pedigree is a family name, and well known for good quality (if expensive!) dog food and items.
I hadn't seen this type of bone before, but had used a few other Pedigree items and had always been happy, so although it was a little more expensive than I'd normally pay for a bone, I went ahead and picked one up.
Although this is shaped as, and made to look like, a filled bone, it is actually not bone at all, and is made of much softer stuff. This means that there are no hard bits, and the dog can eat the whole bone, as it is all made of the same stuff.
Upon opening the packet, the bone had a very strong meaty smell, which Molly seemed to love, making her very excited! She certainly seemed to enjoy the bone when she was given it, however, the main problem was, as it was so soft, it only lasted her a matter of minutes and she was back looking for something else!
I believe these do come in 3 sizes, small, medium and large, to be given to dogs of corresponding size, and if I remember correctly it was the medium one we bought for Molly, so maybe the larger variety would have been more suited to her, and maybe would have lasted a little longer!
Apart from this though, the Pedigree Jumbone is an excellent quality bone, and a nice change from the normal harder bnes you find on the market. Molly certainly seemed pleased with it!
Summary: Quite expensive, but good quality dog treat

- 10/01/09 I'd be a bit worried if you had tried them yourself! I tried cat food once (when I was very small, honest) and the memory of the disgusting taste is still with me... |
