Advantages: vitamins, calcium and omega 3 content

Disadvantages: price!

Ive mentioned in a previous review that we have a fussy hamster living in our household who will only eat one certain type of hamster muesli. Continuing the theme of fussy pets let me introduce you to the equally fussy but cute with it, Barney the Yorkshire Terrier.

Barney will not eat regular dog food, he hates the stuff, he would rather starve then allow a single morsel of dog food to enter his mouth. Weve tried all brands from the premium expensive stuff to cheap supermarket brands all to no avail. Barney will only eat cooked meat that you buy for making sandwiches - Chicken Roll, Corned Beef and Ham are particular favourites and he will happily munch away on any meat whatsoever. Fortunately his taste isnt that refined so he allows us to get away with buying Tesco branded cooked meats that you find in a pack rather than the deli meat from the counter. He will tolerate mixer biscuits, so luckily his diet is quite balanced so we dont feel so bad in indulging him in his quirky habits.

Dog treats on the other hand are perfectly acceptable and his all time favourites are Pedigree Rodeo's, packaged in the same pack as shown in the Dooyoo pic these are long tubes of chewy meaty sticks that are intertwined and you buy them in either packs of 4 or 7. They come in a choice of 2 flavours - Beef or Chicken and they are equally tasty in Barneys opinion.

The pack proclaims that they contain vitamins, calcium and omega 3 and that they are tasty chewy twists and unfortunately for us Barney loves them a little bit too much. He will sit by the cupboard when he first gets up in a morning staring longingly at the draw where the treats are contained and will not move until he has had one. Any action that he deems deserving of a treat will result in him again staring at the cupboard expectantly. I must confess that these are a great item with which to bribe him as he will do almost anything he is told when you are offering him a Rodeo.

Coming from Pedigree I am happy to always have a pack in the house as I trust the brand and know that Barney is getting a good source of vitamins, the only downside is that they are pretty expensive for what they actually are. A 4 pack costs around £1.10 and a 7 pack around £2.10 so you can imagine if he has at least 2 treats a day a pack doesnt last very long in our house!

Barney would certainly recommend these to other dogs, and I would too for their owners. Barney would definitely give them 5/5 Dooyoo stars but because of the price Im only awarding 4 as they can work out expensive compared to other cheaper alternatives.

Summary: Barneys first choice
