Advantages: didnt upset cats sensitive belly

Disadvantages: more expensive, cat didnt like it much

I'm always a bit nervous about giving Shadow new foods to eat as not only is he extremely fussy but he also has a sensitive stomach and a few foods have given him the runs or made him sick.

His favourite food is Asda tiger but I had somehow ran out and needed to get him something from the CO-OP and the new Felix as good as it looks was on special offer so I decided to try them.

These cost £4.29 for a pack of 12 sachets as opposed to around £3 for standard Felix food so work out quite expensive. For those interested they are on special offer in the Co-Op right now with two boxes costing £6.

The sachets come in four flavours, chicken, beef, tuna and salmon. When I served the first sachet, I was not very impressed. It didn't look as good as the normal Felix. When the box said they were steaklets I was expecting large chunks of meat but what you get is shredded tiny pieces of meat or fish in a thick jelly covering. I can't say it smelled any nicer than normal felix either.

My opinion isn't really important so what did Shadow make of these sachets? The first one he ate but without the gusto of food he really loves. After a couple of meals he started to lick all the jelly off and leave a lot of the meat and after half the pack was finished he simply took a few mouthfuls and left the rest untouched.

I'm pleased to say that his sensitive belly tolerated this food well so no little surprises for me to clean up.

This is a premium product with a premium price tag but doesnt look nearly as good as normal Felix and judging by the cats reaction I would say he agreed. If you want to buy Felix either buy the original or the roasted because they are so much better and both cheaper.

Shadow is back to his normal Tiger food but I still have about 14 packets of this left as I took advantage of the special offer. I think I'll need to sneakily give him one every few days to use them all up!

Summary: Stick to normal felix

Jet loves this but doesn't like the salmon flavour so they always get donated to the local cat rescue place. He much prefers normal felix too though!
