Advantages: Tifa loves it

Disadvantages: Expensive

Felix "as good as it looks" Kitten Food Pouches:

My cat Tifa is not a year old yet so she is still eating kitten food, I have tried her on the adult stuff a few times but she won't eat it. I am hoping at twelve months she will suddenly change her mind and eat the adult stuff but we will have to see. Anyway back to the point...

Felix as good as it looks comes in pouches each one giving Tifa two meals. I think you are meant to feed up to four of these a day but I also feed Tifa dry cat biscuits or else she just cries for food all the time, so she has just two.

The pouches come in a box which seems to be the standard for all pouch type cat food. It can be a pain to open the box on occasion and other times it opens with no problems at all. There are twelve pouches in the boxes I buy and they cost £4.41 at Tesco which is actually quite expensive. Sometimes they are on multi-save offers so if you see them it may be worth stocking up as these have a very long shelf life.

The pouches themselves have a tear off top which always works fine for me and is easy enough to do. By this time I have a crazy cat dancing round my feet and jumping up so I need it to open quickly and easily.

The packaging design is fine and fairly colourful and does the job it's meant to.

Tifa absolutely loves this food. She eats it quickly and cleans herself and purrs for ages after eating it. Seeing her all content like this makes up for the price tag but she still has other brands regularly and this is used mainly as a treat when she hasn't been too badly behaved!

It doesn't actually look very nice to me which worried me at first giving it's name; I actually said to Tifa when I first gave her it that if it tasted as good as it looked then I was sorry for feeding it to her! It has a kind of thick, gelatinous gravy with tiny "fillets" of meat or fish depending on the flavour. The smell isn't too bad though and it doesn't give Tifa bad breath or cause her any digestive problems.

Looking on the Felix website I can see that the ingredients contain meat and animal derivatives, vegetable protein, fish and fish derivatives, minerals and derivatives of vegetable origin. It sounds a bit bizarre in my book! It also contains vitamins A, E and D.

All in all this is a good food for Tifa purely because she loves it so much. It is expensive though and the ingredients don't seem to be significantly better than Whiskers which is around a pound cheaper per box.

Summary: A seemingly tasty cat food.
