Advantages: Really good fun for the Hamsters and me to watch, more space and tubes are great for them to run through, more like their natural burrows

Disadvantages: A little pricey

cage to live in. I had a look at all the different options for dwarfs and decided that a Rotastak cage would be the best for me. I was a little worried as I had heard that dwarfs can not climb the vertical tubes as they are so small, but I thought I would buy one and give it a try. After looking at all the cages on offer, I settled with the Space Command as this cage has no bars that they can climb out of etc and has lots on nice rooms for them to go in, I also then bought an extra Exercise room and attic bedroom to add on. Along with the extra rooms I also bought some of the mouse ladders to help them climb up the vertical tubes. At first my little dwarfs ignored the vertical tubes, I am not sure they realised that they went anywhere so I took them all out the cage, set up a tube with a ladder and did 'tube training' with them :-) they immediately got it and have been running up and down the vertical tubes with no problems ever since. I definitely recommend Rotastak cages just make sure there is enough room as one of their pods alone is not big enough in my opinion. Also if you have dwarfs and they are not climbing the vertical tubes with the ladders on, do tube training with them, it definitely works. As for the cleaning of the cages, I find cleaning my cage ok and it only takes about an hour as usual, the only thing that is the problem are the curvy tubes, they are a nightmare to get apart etc and clean, and then put back together.
