Royal Canin in General

Description: Brand: Royal Canin / Food Type: Cat Food

Newest Review: ... so off I went to the local pet shop, crying inside at the cost of what I was about to buy - Royal Canin. I bought the small ... more

... bags (400g), one for the 8 year old indoor cat (Indoor 27) and one bag of Kitten 36 for the little one. They were £2.79 and £2.45 respectively and only do 5-6 meals per bag - so the manufacturers say...... What can I say? They absolutely love it and fight over who is getting which bowl each time a fresh meal is presented. They get a full meal serving, but it's so much food for them that it actually lasts them 2 meals altogether. So, in one day, they're now eating one pouch of Felix (for variety) and one serving of ...more

As mentioned in a couple of previous ops, I have two little girls. They're my babies and they deserve, and get, only the best. As a single mum, I took it upon myself to research what would be best for them, what would be most suitable for their lifestyles and temperaments. You could never call me an irresponsible parent, I have always believed that their preferences should be in equal balance with their nutritional requirements. So let me tell you a bit about them. My girls don't go out, ever. I worry for their safety, see, and besides they don't seem to be that interested. This means that they don't use as much energy as their roaming ...  Read the complete review

Introduction ---------------- When we picked Buster up he was being fed on Royal Canin Junior Mini, we were given a very helpful measuring cup and Buster continued to develop very well. We continued to buy 3kg bags until Buster won a dog show and was given two large bags of Arden Grange puppy. We were careful to wean Buster off the Royal Canin whilst we tried him with the Arden Grange after making the transition we instantly we noticed a huge difference in attitude, behaviour and energy. Buster seemed happier and was more receptive to training. We noticed that a severe wind problem Buster had previously had disappeared and he had more positive energy so rather ...  Read the complete review

I am the proud owner of a tiny Pom-Chi and I try to give her the best. I have been advised not to give her any tinned food by the vet so now she simply lives on a diet of Royal Canin Mini Junior Dog Food, and she loves it! Royal canin are a much trusted and respected company by consumers and vets alike and when I seen my local vet had started to stock Royal Canin I decided it was definetly worth a try. The Product --------------- This particular product comes in a 2.5kg bag . It is specially made for mini puppies from 2 - 10 months and contains everything that a small puppy should need for promoting intensive colour in the coat, ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review What price happy kittens? (589 words)

As part of our frugal living drive (we need a big deposit for a big house), my partner and I have cut back on our food and living expenses to a huge degree and we are now making big savings. Unfortunately, our two little'uns won't comply and continue to be fussy and go on food strike if we dare give them something disagreeable or cheap (or even expensive for that matter). They love Felix - but only in the pouches. We've purchased the tins, and they might eat a little bit from the first one, then completely stop and go on hunger strike until we cave in and go and spend our heard-earned on the pouches for them. We've tried different brands to try and tantalise ...  Read the complete review

As a breeder I found Royal Canin and was devoted to it for years, until... About 2 years ago I purchased my first bag of RC Queen food for breeding mums. I fed it to the one girl throughout her pregnancy. She had 5 seemingly healthy Balinese kittens. But after a few days 3 of the 5 lost all their fur. After thousands were spent to discover the problem, biopsies, blood-work - and after changing all the cats' diets, bedding, heat - the kittens grew new coats and the vets gave up. I was told they couldn't find a reason for the alopecia. As I wrote my story on the web I started getting responses from breeders having the same experience. But they lived ...  Read the complete review
