Advantages: The Cat is still eating it

Disadvantages: None

Hello being the owner of a particuarly fussy cat when it comes to food we have tried all sorts of different foods just to find he gets bored of them and would prefer to go out hunting mice.

He seems to prefer the cat foods in jelly therefore all the brand names have been tried the ones offering real fish and meat chunks but feed him a weeks worth and he will start leaving them untouched.

On a trip to Sainsburys i spotted their own brand pouches at £2.97 for 12 which is anywhere from a £0.50 - £1.00 saving on other brands. Also you will often find the more expensive brands offer 12x75g pouches where as the Sainburys pouches are 100g each meaning more cat food for your money. This results in us feeding 1 less pouch a day, and he has eaten every last piece of each pouch we have put down for the last 3 months.

Upon opening the pouch of food along the tear strip you are greeted with the typical strong smell of cat food. The food slips out of the pouch easily and cleanly enough although i find it does need mixing with a fork as it forms to the shape of the pouch making it awkward for the cat to eat. There are plenty of meat chunks in the food and indicates an all round good value cat food.
The appearence isn't necessarily as appealing to the eye as the leading brands with real pieces of fish etc but as expected the cat dosen't seem to be bothered by this in the slightist.

The food is available in the box pictured with the following contents:-
4xSalmon
4xTrout
4xTurkey

They are also available with:
6xChicken and Turkey
6xSalmon

All of the above are with jelly, and there is also another pack which i cannot remember the contents of but contained 6 pouches with gravy so i dismissed this one. The variety of flavours i believe is a key fact to keeping the cat interested in his food and Sainburys offer a fair variety here for an own brand. The actual pouches are very plain just colour coded to the flavour on the front of the box.

Overall a great cat food the cat is now waiting for the food before the pouch is even opened. 5 stars on value for Sainsburys and 5 stars from Spike the cat on the variety of flavours to keep him interested and the taste test.

Summary: Great cat food
