A lot of people dont like the plastic shelves as they feel they are too flimsy and prone to being chewed. On the other hand, there are a few downsides with this cage. The Savic Freddy 2 is a decent (but smaller) sized cage suitable for a pair of rats. It is NOT suitable for ferrets as it has often been advertised as being suitable for. It measures 80cm long by 50cm wide and 63cm high, and usually comes with a yellow base and blue shelves, and black bars. The Savic Freddy 2 is commonly available in Pets at Home, along with the Ferplast Jenny it is their most commonly stocked rat cage. Although the Freddy is much smaller than Jenny, which could fit about five rats in (at a push), it has several features that make it a superior cage. I got this for my brother for his birthday as he needed a new cage for his rat, the one he had was getting a bit old! I paid £80, probably could ahve got it cheaper if i shopped around but was in a rush for a present so just decided to pay the price that i saw! It comes in two colours, either blue or yellow (I got the blue one). These are the dimensions : 80 X 50 X 63cm It comes with a litter tray that goes in the corner, a hammock (aww!) , plastic corner shelf with ramp, a stainless steel bowl ad a water bottle.
