Its little bristles work their way through the fur easily without scratching at the skin therefore not causing any irritation to your dog which is good if you've got a westie or a similar breed that suffers with excema etc as most brushes are quite harsh and do tend to cause problems. I have in the past reviewed a couple of other grooming tools but this one is the king of grooming! We've had ours for a few years and if your aim is to really remove excess fur this is the brush to do it. I have two cats as many of you know and when we need to take off loose fur we get the slicker out. We're at that time of year now when my two go for a tussle, aim for the neck for a quick bite to incense the other one and come away spitting out mouthfuls of fur! It's likely to be a month or so before this stops happening (not the neck grip, that always happens, the loose fur issue!) so we're grooming them both at least once a ...  Read the complete review

I picked one of these up at a recent dog show for my Bichon Frise. I went for the middle sized one that was avaliable to me and it is pretty much the same size as my other slicker brushes. They are all of equal quality and vary in price from around £4 to £10. This one was between £5 and £6. It is a good brush and seems to be gentle on the dogs coat. My groomer told me to test them on my arm and that is obviously what it feels like for the dog so although the teeth are quite sharp to touch directly when brushed it doesnt cause any dis comfort. The brush is easy to use and I have three because I do have them dotted around the house to make sure ...  Read the complete review

This handy little brush is great for keeping your pet tangle free. My little westie gets extremely knotted fast especially on his tummy and around his collar and like most dogs he doesnt like being groomed very much as it pulls and tugs at his fur. But this little brush makes light of the work in hand and gets it over and done with quickly and seemingly pain free. It takes out all the knots and excess fur meaning your furniture and floors stay cleaner.
