Advantages: Very cheap

Disadvantages: Very inedible

Tesco describe this product as 'Premium' and when I see 'Premium' I expect something a little extra, something special.

Now, at first glance of the packaging alone I dont see anything particularly 'fancy' about this product, but I try not to judge on looks alone so I bypass the rather generic big, blue box with the obvious cat-approaches-food photograph and I pick one off the shelf.

Its rather large and that may be a good thing in terms of product quantity for money, but its rather cumbersome and Im thinking I much prefer the cat biscuits that come in a bag which can be squashed down a bit in the carrier.
This box can not and, once again, I'm giving the product the benefit of the doubt, and trying not to make any snap judgements. But so far its more 'pants' than 'premium'.

This product cost 83p for 1kg and once more, as I pay the cashier(and Im sure she's got a 'you've not fallen for the old premium trick' look in her eye) Im having a sneaking suspicion that this is no premium range but a rather affordable one, as cat biscuits can get very expensive and in my experience the better ones do cost a bit more.
So whilst Im very pleased with the price, it has just confirmed to my doubting mind that there isn't really anything special about these biccies.

The ultimate test - I notice when I dish them out for my cat (well he's not mine, he's mums, but im cat sitting so for the purpose of the review.....) they dont smell as strong as his other biscuits and the colour looks at bit dull.
I place them on the floor and watch in anticipation - was I right after all or am I just growing more and more cynical as the years go by?

I was right!
He barely touched them.
He was very unimpressed to be precise and after several attempts to convince him they were indeed 'premium', he simply gave me a look of disgust and walked away.
I knew it!
Of course you can judge a book by its cover, and its price and its smell - or lack of it - and so on.

I did try him again with these but to no avail.
This cat knows quality when he tastes it and quality they are not.
For shame Tesco. These should be filed under the 'value' range me thinks! But nice try!

Summary: Premium?? Me thinks not

This is one of the foods I tried when I first had my cat and he also turned his nose up at them.

Glad I didn't bother with these a few weeks ago when they ran out of Whiskas!
