... Tesco logo and Lightweight Cat Litter labeled across the front with a cute tabby cat underneath. To open the bag you should ideally be able to rip it open using the cord provided but I am yet to get this to work so end up cutting it open with a pair of scissors. ~ The Product ~ The actual litter is a light grey in colour and does not contain much dust so does not cause too much of a mess. It is easily visable when the cat has used the litter so that you are able to scoop the used litter out. ~My Opinion ~ On...more

Premium Review Tesco Value Lightweight Cat Litter: Cheap, cheerful and the same as any other litter (542 words)

It may seem slightly eccentric to be writing a review on cat litter, however I believe in the case of Tesco Value Cat Litter the review is warranted. I got my first cat three years ago and was fine with the price of Asda own brand cat litter until it DOUBLED in price from around £1.40 to £3!!!! I found this shocking so I bought my cat the Asda Smart Price Cat Litter, which she refused to use as it had wood chippings in. So I was resigned to paying this extortionate price for 10 litres to keep my little kitty happy (and prevent her from going anywhere else in the house!) Roll on to last year and I was in Tesco's buying litter. I was just about to ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review It does the job! (828 words)

We have had cats for many years - only one at a time....and always "outdoor cats" (with the exception of one pampered pedigree many years ago). Our cats like to climb trees and scratch at fence posts, and to go off exploring, which suits me because it saves my furniture from becoming scratched, or my curtains becoming plucked as kitty scales the fabric looking for adventure. Toileting for our cats is therefore easy - they go outside. Most of the cats we have had have been either rescue cats or adopted from people we knew who were moving house, so they were already housetrained. Last spring, however, we got a kitten who was only 6 weeks ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Tesco Value Lightweight Cat Litter: Cheap and functional (341 words)

I've used all different cat litters over the years, but I always end up going back to the Tesco Value. It's not a fancy cat litter, it doesn't have sweet smelling granules mixed in with it, and it's just cheap and cheerful. The reason I don't use the expensive ones is because they don't make any difference. I go to a friend's house who uses Catsan with the 'odour control', but it just doesn't work. Unfortunately she thinks it does, and this means she only does a full tray clean once a week, and just shovels the used litter out during the day. Meaning you can smell the litter tray as you enter the house, and it's not nice. So, for ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Premium quality at a value price (435 words)

When it comes to my pampered Persian only the best will do! She is not an expensive cat to look after but she knows what she likes. She will only eat dry Go Cat or Whiskers and if she has wet food from pouches, tins or trays she will only eat the gravy or jelly leaving the meat behind! Having had her for nearly 5 years now we have tried many cat litters. From the super expensive to the cheapest. I am a strong believer that anything in value packaging is probably the same as the next own brand product that the supermarket has to offer. With the above item this is not the case. Priced at £1.17 for a ten litre bag this is very much a ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Tesco Value Lightweight Cat Litter: Does the business! (187 words)

I've tried a whole range of cat litters and in my opinion this is the best value for money option out there. Being from the Tesco value range, its obvioulsy cheap, nearly half the price of other brands. They come in 10 litre bags and therefore are quite substanstial, although they are a bit hard to carry as there's no handle. The packaging isn't glossy or particularly cheerful, but i doubt ayone's interested in that when they're buying cat litter! The best thing about this product is that once the cat has done its business, if you leave it to dry for a bit, it holds together really well, meaning you don't have to get rid of all the litter in the ...  Read the complete review
