Since I moved a new fish tank in to my home last week its time for fishy themed reviews. This is product I whole heartedly recommend that anyone keeping fish should have on hand. As we all know the tap water in the UK is safe for us to drink, but has several chemical additives as well as traces of the metals used in the pipes, among these are chlorine and metal ions, these while harmless to humans and large pets -cats, dogs etc - are not so good for fish, in fact can kill them. So while most people know to leave water intended for aquaria to stand for a minium of 24 hours sometimes this just isnt practical so what else can you do? There ...  Read the complete review

Fish use there gills to breath not there lungs like we do, they use the oxygen out of the water to breath. Our tap water contains chlorine and although this is not harmful to us when we drink it, it is harmful to fish as it burns there gills. Adding tetra aqua safe to your tap water makes it safe for your fish because it neutralises the chlorine in your tap water. Tetra aqua safe does this by breaking down the bond between chlorine and ammonia neutralising them. It also coats the fish helping with the healing of wounds as it works like an anticeptic promoting healing. We used aqua safe when we first set up our fish ...  Read the complete review

As you probably know, fish breath oxygen in through water in their gills. So obviously it's important that the water is safe for them to breath. Tap water has chlorine in it, which is in such small quantities that it's fine for you and me. But for fish, it could burn their gills and kill them unfortunately. To avoid this happening, add 5ml of this product to the water each time you change your fish. It has active ingredients in it that will disperse any chlorine and other harmful chemicals in your tap water and make it safe for your fishes to breath. Tetra Aquasafe Is designed to do several things for your fish: · Removes Toxic Chlorine & Chloramines · Adds Protective Coating for Fish · Neutralizes Heavy Metals Aquasafe makes tap water harmless to use for fish water. Ordinary tap water contains chemicals and metals that can damage fish. They are harmed by rapid changes in pH, temperature, etc which can result from water changing. Most fish owners rely on tap water when setting up an aquarium or when doing partial water changes. Tap water has had many chemicals added to kill bacteria (good and bad bacteria). Because these chemicals are deadly to fish, never keep fish in untreated tap ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Tetra AquaSafe: Tetra Aquasafe (164 words)

If you're new to the world of goldfish this product is a must!! I can't stress that enough! You must not put goldfish into ordinary tap water. Instead you must add some Tetra Aquasafe. This does 3 things: It removes all heavy metals from the tap water, neutralises chlorine and coats the fish with a protective covering. You are able to but Tetra Aquasafe from all fish shops, and also mail order. Usually the mail order is cheaper. You are also better off getting a large bottle of it too if you intend to change the water frequently. It will dis colour the water very slightly to a blue colour but this is natural. ...  Read the complete review
