The world is awash with charities for every worthy cause under the sun: poorly children, cancer research, mistreated animals, abused women and people in poverty striken areas. Few charities concentrate on animals "past their prime" or less photogenic than cute puppies and fluffy kittens. After all we all know given the choice most people would much prefer a companion they can keep for many years to come and not one they may loose to old age in a few years.
