Advantages: Create a balanced diet and provide fish with alot of energy

Disadvantages: Not so good for large fish

Freeze dried bloodworms are great for fish of all types. I once had goldfish that would go mental for this food. With the normal standard food they would just swim slowly up to the top of the tank and feed, however when bloodworms were sprinkled into the tank they would be given new life and energy.

A while after my fish passed I gradually started getting some tropical fish in my tank. When feeding them with bloodworms the result was the same. both kinds of fish loved these little worms and obviously preferred them to the standard fish flakes or food blocks. Even though the fish did love these products I thought it important to give them a balanced diet, so I would only give them the bloodworms every two or three days.

Despite not being the fish's main source of food I swear by these bloodworms. For the amount you get in a pot they are well worth the price, it costs me around £2.50 for 10g depending on where I get them from. With a small tank of fish these bloodworms will last any aquarium keeper a long time. I have a rather sizable tank of around thirty tropical fish and they still last a great length of time.

If you are a passionate fish lover and you have not tried a variety of bloodworms, I highly recommend them to you. Fish love them and the meat is relevant to their diet and makes a nice variation compared to the standard fish food.

Blood worms I feel are essential food for any fish that reside in an indoor tank.

Summary: If you love your fish then I feel bloodworms are a must have feeding item!

Oh wow, I always wanted to get my fish live ones. But they were pretty pricey from the actual shops. Due to that I only bought them once.

That takes me back a bit -well a lot then - to my childhood when we kept tropical fish. We were lucky enough to be able to get loads of those red worms from stagnant pools in a field adjacent to our home.
