I have bought a few pet bowls in my time! These bowls, I bought from a small pet shop in town.
I bought 2 of these bowls one each for my guinea pigs. I got 2 pink ones, there were other colours as well - Light blue & dark blue and cream with brown. The bowls all have a picture in the center and around the sides. My bowls have pictures of guinea pigs .. I think that's what they are! I got 2 bowls for £5 because they were on offer.
I think it is a decent size ceramic bowl and although my guinea pigs can push it with their nose, they cant tip it over! With it being ceramic, it is easy to clean and dry everyday.
As well as owning 2 of the pink bowls, I also have 2 of the smaller cream/brown ones which I think are just the right size for a hamster, I had these given to me a few years ago and they have lasted really well - I would say the pink ones are better sized for a guinea pig. I use the smaller cream/brown dishes just to put treats in when I let the guinea pigs out in their runs.
I would buy more of these again if I could find them - They stopped selling them in my local pet shop and they are not in the pet shop in town either. I will have to look on line! I would recommend anyone buy this bowl if your after a strong bowl that will last years.
Being the piggy cage interior designer I am, when I spotted this adorable bowl whilst browsing through zooplus I just had to have it - I thought the design was so cute and would be lovely for them to eat their pellets out of. I purchased this way back in the day when I had just 2 guinea pigs (my brood has now increased to 5 of the wee critters) and was hoping for the pink bowl (I do have boys but like to encourage them to be in touch with their feminine side :P ) but sadly when you order you just get what you're given and there was never any option for me to choose my preferred colour, I got the blue instead but it is still rather gorgeous so I wasn't too fussed; as well as the pink or blue variations there is also a brown available too.
As well as the guinea pig options there are also bowls with a rabbit or hamster design, these are available in the same 3 colours and are differing sizes in accordance to the species they are aimed at. As stated before I went for the guinea pig option with the bowl size being 11cm in diameter and curiously enough it can hold up to 250ml of water if you decided to use it for that purpose. The bowls are ceramic so heavy enough that they can't be uptipped or thrown around the cage, though if you have a particularly determined rabbit then maybe they just might succeed! I've found that my pigs can't upturn the bowl and unlike plastic they can't really gnaw on it either; it's also easily wiped clean - not sure about popping it in the dishwasher though!
The quality of this bowl is fab, especially for the price - I seem to recall paying about £4 for mine. It should be worth noting that you may be able to find these other bowls on other sites as well as zooplus and prices will of course vary depending on where you shop. Gorgeous design and I may have to purchase several more, only downside is not being able to pick the colour.
