History of Wagg
---------------
Its a company that initally started out as a animal feeding place. They started in 1923 in north yorkshire, however in 1990 they changed their name to wagg and stopped doing animal feed for farms and decided to concentrate on domestic animal food.

Now i have 4 dogs and 3 cats and feeding time at 5 oclock was horrendous... all little paws in the kitchen trying to trip me up wasnt not my idea of fun. My monthly food bill was also getting seriously out of control at nearly £150 for all the pets. A friend of mine suggested transferring the lot over to dry and complete food.

The Packaging
-------------
The initial colour of the 17kg bag is like a custard yellow and is like a big garden sack, that strength. On the front of the packet is the name of the Product, Wagg Complete Food. On the bottom of the right hand corner there is a picture of a Springer Spaniel and around the middle of the bag is several smaller dogs running over a field with balls all looking healthy. It also states that there is enough food to feed your pet for 34 days. Thats presuming you have one pet. However i find that mine lasts a lot longer than this and their bowls are always full.

When you open the sack there is a strong smell of dried dog food, its very hard to describe. The inside of the sack is black.

On the back of the back it has a feeding guide and also details of the individaul make up of the food. On the sides there is different facts that make it good for your dog and on the other side there is the Waggs details for customer services.

The Product
-----------
Im sure Wagg have changed the look of this food recently as most of its food used to look flaky and now a lot of it has changed in look.

There are five nutrious things that make Wagg so appealing and these are the following

Green peas - these are in a flake shape and they are crinkled cut. They also do smell of dried
peas. One of my dogs love to spit the peas out and leaves them at the side of his dish. Hes not yet trained to dump it in the bin but all the other dogs eat this.

Oils and fat is actually incorporated into the food, you cant see this or taste or smell it.

Maize - This is a darkish yellow in colour and is shaped like triangles and forms the balance of wheat out in their food.

Meat/Chicken - These are the two meats that are in this dog food, first of all the meat are a dark brown circular in colour and is strong in calcium for the strong bones. The chicken is in a pellet form and remind me of sorry my cat litter! Its that sort of shape but this is rich in protein and amino acids to stimulate growth and muscle development.

Benefits of Wagg
----------------
There is no need to supplement any food with Wagg, The food itself is very rich in Calcium, Amino Acids, Vitamins and Oils and fats which will help your dog keep fit and active. My dogs have good shiny coats and are all healthy and dont need any supplements.

Its quick and easy to use and feeding time that would take me around 1 hour takes me about 15 mins now.

Good value. 17kg bag costs £8.99 and is readily available from pet stores and all the main supermarkets now sell it. If this is too heavy for you to get home they also sell a 2.5kg bag for £1.89.

When you buy Wagg there is often free gifts in them, it states this on the front of the product as they stick a great big pink label on telling your to watch out for the free gift. These have included dog leads, dog trainer balls, dog chews and dog meat sticks which is the current one.

Its also supposed to stop your dog from passing wind, or at the least cut it down.

It also stabalises their poo, i know this sounds gross but when i fed them tinned food, they constantly had the runs, this very rarely happens now.

Feeding Guide
-------------
Puppies can be fed on dem
and of this food.
Small dogs 75-220g
Medium Dogs 200-400g
Large Dogs 400-600g
Ex large Dogs 600g plus

There is also a helpful website Waggfoods.co.uk, the website is where you can order goods on line and find out about the products that they do. They also tell you about all the promotions that are on going and you can sign up for this or email them any questions that you might like to ask.

You can also ring them on 01845 577795. One day i had cause to do this as the free toy they advertised was not there. They acknowledged that a lot of them had been sent out minus these and within two days they had sent my dogs a goody bag and me some money off vouchers for your pets. Now i think Wagg are really good and they want the best for your pets.

My cats often have a nibble at this food as well and this wont do them any harm.

If your going to try this product, allways have fresh water out for your dogs and slowly introduce them to it over a couple of days. At first my dogs refused to eat it but eventually they did and now they dont like tinned food they prefer their Wagg.

Range of food
-------------
Wagg Complete
Wagg Junior
Wagg Senior
Wagg Worker
Wagg Mobility
(all dog food)
They also do foods for guinea pigs, hamsters and rabbits. I am waiting for them to do cat food.

Would i recommend it?
----------------------
Certainly i would, go out and buy a bag and try it.I wont change my brand of dog food as i find it very important that when you find a good company it pays to be loyal.

Thanks

Karen :0)

Dry food is much better than tinned - it doesn't smell as much or go off as quickly! I am waiting for them to invent human food now ;-) Very good review.

I'm sure if Jack would like this, He's a bit fussy. Spoilt to be honest.
