Advantages: Good for his teeth, made by Whiskas, good price
Disadvantages: None as far as Mew is concerned
As you may know we have recently been adopted by a lovely cat. He is about two years old and we have christened him Mew - well that's what he kept saying his name was anyway!
My sister Helen visited at the weekend and fell in love with Mew so when she went to Asda she returned with a treat for him.
The treat in question was a pack of Whiskas Dentabits which cost £1.03 for 50g.
The first thing I noticed about these treats was the container. It is plastic (recycleable) and has a bright purple base and a clear lid. Under the clear lid is a peel off label with pictures of an angelic looking cat, a couple of cat teeth and a couple of the biscuits. The only wording is Whiskas Dentabits.
The thing that I love about the container is that the top is shaped like a cats head - it is oval with two 'ears' - to see what I mean take a look at the picture at the top of this review.
As soon as Helen had given Mew the treats we opened the container for him to try one. There were about a hundred or so of the little biscuits in there and I took one out and offered it to Mew.
Was he going to like it? That's a joke! He went berserk!!!!!!!
He absolutely loved it and wanted more and more. I gave him 4 or 5 of them and then he licked my hands to get every available scrap of the taste.
I gave him a couple this morning and then he sat outside the door of the room where they are kept trying to look as cute as possible to see if I would give him some more!
It does say on the pack that 8 per day is the maximum that the cat should have and that they are 'ideal as a snack to help keep the cat's teeth and gums healthy'. The idea is that regular use will help to reduce the build up of plaque and tartar on his teeth.
One word of warning - these are only for cats over ten months old.
I'm not sure how much they will help Mew as he doesn't tend to chew them much before wolfing them down! Mind you as he loves them so much I will certainly buy him some more once he has eaten all these.
In fact the way he reacts I almost feel like trying one myself to see what all the fuss is about!
This will also be posted on Ciao.
Summary: Mew loves them!

- 04/08/08 our old cat, Delilah used to love these too- it was the only real way we got her to make peace with my toddler niece- by getting her to give them to the cat. Worked a treat- great review |
