Advantages: Can't even think of one!
Disadvantages: Pricey, nutritionally awful and only 4% meat content!
I just can't believe that so many people are drawn in by the hype and advertising of these cheap, nasty brands of cat and dog food!!
These massive global companies spend an absolute fortune on advertising and marketing every year, just to sell you absolute crap to feed your animals!!
Has anyone actually taken the time to look at the ingredients list on these so-called pet foods?? Probably not! I can guarantee that just about every single one of them will contain 4% meat or thereabouts. Can you only imagine what the other 96% is??? I dread to think!
I can appreciate that a lot of families may be on a budget, but if you actually take the time to search hard enough, you can make considerable savings and still feed your animals good quality diets without breaking the bank.
Ok, so it's not always going to be as convenient picking up the food with your weekly shop, but in the long run your pet is going to be far healthier, resulting in lower vets bills etc!
I have owned many pets in my life and my background in food technology allows me a little knowledge when it comes to reading ingredient labels!
The best cat food on the market BY A MILE is Bozita chunks in jelly or the pate varieties. They come in many different flavours and your local pet shop should be able to order them for you!
Bozita is a Swedish company whose ethical meat industry score points with me every time. The quality of their meat and the way the treat their animals is renowned worldwide. Sweden is one of the very few countries in the world that does not have salmonella in their chicken industry or CJD in their beef cattle. Very high standards.
Bozita chunks in jelly/pate are sold in tetrapak cartons which makes them very eco-friendly too.
Now to the reason why you ALL should be buying this for your cats..........it contains 93%, yes I said 93% real meat!! That is a full 89% more meat than ALL of the leading brands of wet cat food!!
Because the food has a much higher content of meat, you actually don't need to feed as much as you would of the cheap, nasty rubbish in pouches!!
A half of one tetrapack is enough to feed an average cat for a day. Larger cats may need two-thirds of one.
I own and run a pet shop myself and sell this brand by the bucket load! Lots of my customers have converted to this after they realised how awful the leading brands were and how much money they were saving! Yes, I said saving!!
I sell each pack for just 80p that means 40p/60p per day to feed your cat.
Compare this just on price alone and not even thinking about the benefits of a higher meat content, then you would be spending £2.80/£3.75 per week on Bozita.
The cheapest cat food I have found is Claude (Tesco own "value" brand!) at £2.20 for 12 pouches, which equates to £3.85 per week!!!!
You do the maths!
Remember, cats are carnivores! They eat MEAT! Not water and fillers and E numbers. That will not satisfy their hunger!
Just thought I would mention it! Hope it converts at least one of you away from the crap food!
:o)
Summary: Buy Bozita cat food!

- 29/10/09 A little bit harsh Emma, but thanks for at least agreeing with me on how rubbish Whiskas is!
(And I only mentioned my shop once!)

- 29/10/09 Whilst I completely agree with you regarding how crap Whiskas and the like is, I've had to rate this review as SU as you tell us more about Bozita and your pet shop than you do Whiskas! |
