Advantages: Tasty, steam cooked, handy, no mess, cheap

Disadvantages: cat will eat quite a lot of them

I came across these Whiskas Pouches quite a while ago now. My cat eats their dry food and I was looking for some wet food for her. I don't like the idea of a big tin of wet cat food that you only use a bit of and then have to keep in the fridge because I don't like it near my human food so when I saw these pouches I thought they were great. They are individual portions in a foil, sealed packet. They have indentations on the side so they are easy to open, you can just do them with your hands and there is no need to spoon out the food so they do not create a mess.

I buy the Whiskas pouches in traditional gravy. There are meaty chunks covered in quite a thick, solid gravy. The different flavours include, beef, chicken and green peas, lamb and carrots and game. The thing I like about the chicken and the lamb is that they actually include real peas and carrots, the peas are full size and the carrots are chopped into little bits. You can also get them in the jelly variety but to me this looks too sickly and stuck together (rather like the jelly in a pork pie, yuck), not appetizing at all. There are "oh so fishy" varities as well which I'm sure a lot of cats will love.

They come in boxes of 12 x100g pouches for £3.08 at Sainsbury's but if you buy two packets you get them for £5. You are advised on the box to serve your cat four of these pouches a day which I generally do, sometimes only three a day so a 24 pack will last you about a week and for £5 I think that is quite economical.

The pouches claim to be steam cooked to preserve the meaty taste and also include lots of natural nutrients to keep your cat happy and healthy. My cat loves them, so gobbles them up in a matter of seconds so treat your cat today!

Summary: Whiskas pouches - Handy wet food portion of cat food that your cats will love!

My cat loves Whiskas pouches but will eat every last mouthful and leave all the veg in the bottom, licked clean of gravy/jelly. Which is far enough I suppose, when was the last time you saw a lion munching on a carrot.
Good review
