Advantages: Small, light packaging

Disadvantages: Quite pricey compared to other brands

Both my cats absolutely love Whiskas pouches. I get woken up at 5am by the hungry little beggars and they don't rest until they get their Whiskas. I've tried giving them competitor brands but they actually turned their noses up at them (fastidious whatnots!) so I've been forced to go back to Whiskas. Clean bowls every single time!

The pouches come in all sorts of flavours all around a meat/fish and veg combo theme. You can get them in jelly which you have to chop up before you give it to your cats, or in gravy which just slops straight out of the pouch with no chopping required. My cats will eat either but I quite like the ones in jelly as the food falls out in one lump which I just think looks funny.

As a non-feline I prefer the pouches as they're less unwieldy than buying tins and I find them a lot easier to carry home from the shops. The sachets are easy to carry around if your moggies are going anywhere for an overnight stay. The empty pouches also take up very little room in the rubbish bin which is a big bonus.

You're supposed to feed each cat 4 pouches a day but mine just get the one each and then dry food throughout the rest of the day and that seems to do just fine. Too much wet food might give them jippy tums!

Summary: A great way to package cat food.

The pouch design of pet foods is certainly very handy!
