Advantages: My cat will eat it, looks meaty

Disadvantages: You can't serve half the packet if your cat doesn't always finish a full serving

My cat is a fussy, spoiled little thing but I adore him nonetheless and therefore try to cater to his every whim! He is a rescue cat from the local shelter and is 13 years old. I got him a year ago and funnily enough when he first arrived in my home he refused to touch any wet food, preferring dry food only. But then after a couple of weeks I tried again with wet food and he now insists on at least one serving of it a day.

As all cat owners know, wet food is more expensive than dry food. I have tried my cat on many kinds of different wet foods including Gourmet Perle, Sheba, Felix, and Whiskas. Of these, the only two he will eat are Sheba and Whiskas. While I'd say he has a slight preference for Sheba, he will also quite happily go for the Whiskas most days although occasionally he will turn up his nose.

I prefer serving him Whiskas pouches for the simple reason that they are very easy to dispense without me having to touch the cat food or use an implement to get it out. It's easy to tear the top of these foil pouches and then squeeze the pouch until the food comes out onto his bowl. Usually the food comes out in a big lump and I then do sometimes break it up for him if he refuses to eat it at first and then he usually will go for it.

My cat prefers the Whiskas in Jelly but my mother's cat prefers Whiskas in Gravy so you never can predict what any cat will prefer and it's best to try both. I haven't tried Whiskas "Oh so meaty" range which I would imagine contains more meat and less fillers than these for the simple reason that they are more expensive and knowing my cat if he sunk his teeth into one of them he would then refuse to eat the regular Whiskas until I caved in and started buying the more expensive brand for him!

Often Co-op will have these whiskas pouches on sale at two boxes of 12 for £5.50 which is a very good bargain and I'll stock up when I see this offer.

This appears by the way it looks to be a good quality cat food and my cat agrees with me on this most of the time. But I'm certainly not going to do a taste test - some things I won't do, even for dooyoo!

Summary: Stock up when it's on sale but first run it by your cat to make sure!
