Advantages: Easy to use, No wastage, Cat loves them!

Disadvantages: Bit more expensive, Does not seem to last long

Buying cat food seems to be my constant nightmare as to what to get, its quality, how long it will last, will he eat it etc etc!
My cat was rescued from being drowned as a kitten by some scum bags that thought it was quite a funny thing to do. Ever since i got him he was on Whiskas kitten food and then progressed to the cat food in tins. I have alternated the food as he seemed to get bored of the tins and there was inevitably the one can he would not eat (mainly rabbit) and then got eaten by the dog instead. It cost me a fortune the amount i threw away-and if the tin was left out with its cover the stench was unbelievable-even in a cool cupboard! But if i put it in the fridge he also stuck his nose up at it because it was too cold! Plus you have the hassle of having a cat food fork that gets dirty and you have to wash constantly.

So i decided to try the pouches as they looked quite easy and hassle free, although they did seem more expensive (2.76 approx for a box of 12) Well he can't get enough of them! I have never given my cats the Whiskas tins supermeat or gravy as it always seemed to give them upset stomach, or at least it did for him so i buy the jelly pouches and he loves them!

The only problem being that he seems to go through a heck of a lot in a day! They are easy to use and i give him one pouch in the morning and some biscuits and he gets another 2 in the day-he does tend to be quite slim and starving as he is out all day and night at the moment!

No more smelly cat tins or trying to work out how much he should have, or end up throwing the tin away as he has got bored of the chicken flavour! He eats every single bit and any flavour will do.

He cries the plays down though once he has had one pouch as he wants more! They are also in smaller bite size chunks than in the tin and if i was a cat i would find it quite appetising! Whiskas also do a senior range for older cats, also in pouches so no doubt he will be
progressing onto that one day.

The down side is that he does seem to go through the pack very quickly but i tend to but them when on offer in the shops (my local Somerfield does but 2 get 3rd free quite a lot) so its cheaper if bought that way. Also i have noticed they have come out with a box of double the size which will be cheaper too.

Overall there are all flavours, fish selection, poultry selection, and favourites so there is a taste for every fussy cat palate!

We use these pouches (the senior ones) for our cats, but add dried food to make them go further. I know what you mean about horrible smelly tins.

Well my cat is also a fussy beggar, he *usually* eats these pouches but then he still gets bored sometimes!

Although the pouches are more expensive, we switched our cat on to them because she has very few teeth. The smaller lumps are much easier for her eat. She definitely prefers them.
