Advantages: A treat for your cat

Disadvantages: He went off them fairly quickly

As you all must know by now we were adopted by a lovely cat earlier this year. He is about two years old and we have christened him Mew - well that's what he kept saying his name was anyway!

He is a gorgeous cat as you can see by his photograph and we do spoil him a bit I have to confess! We keep a range of treats in the cupboard for him and one of these is Whiskas Temptations which cost 98p for 60g.

The first thing I noticed about these treats was the container. It is plastic (recycleable) and has a bright purple base and a clear lid and stands about two inches tall. Under the clear lid is a peel off label with pictures of an angelic looking cat and some of the treats contained inside, both whole and cut in half to show the inside. The only wording is Whiskas Temptations.

I do think that the container is cute as the top is shaped like a cats head - it is oval with two cats' 'ears' - to see what I mean take a look at the picture at the top of this review.

The little biscuits themselves are only about 1.5cm by 1cm so they are quite tiny. They are like little tiny pillows in shape and contain beef, chicken and cheese or salmon. The ones we have are the beef flavoured ones.

The outside is crunchy whilst the inside is soft and chewy - well so it says on the pack - I haven't actually tried them! I do take Dooyoo seriously but not THAT seriously!

But what was Mew going to think of them?

Well that's the mystery. At first he loved them and looked for more, but more recently sometimes he eats them and sometimes I offer them to him and he ignores them so I put them back in the pack. Maybe like us he fancies them some days and not others.

The instructions on the pack just say that you can give them to your cat as a treat at any time of the day but there is no mention of a maximum number per day.

These little biscuits are purely used as a treat for your cat and do not have any other benefits such as helping digestion or tooth care.

All in all I would recommend these but don't be surprised if, like Mew, your cat just eats them when he feels like it!

This will also be posted on Ciao.

Summary: A nice treat for puss!

We have three cats, and when it comes to feeding them treats they can become quite vocal. They tend to prefer Kitbits to Temptations.

My lads don't like anything made by Whiskas. Glad to find another Mew story at last though, I've been waiting for one!
