BengalNewest Review: ... look into your front room, but until you have seen a really gorgeous blue-eyed snow marbled Bengal, you havent seen all the glory this breed can present. Temperament wise they are unlike any other cat you will ever meet. They are highly intelligent cats, and I have been caught out more than once by my naughty boy opening the door to let himself into whichever room it is you were trying to ... more |

I have always been a catperson, and have had many "moggies" and many pure breeds in my life so far. But now I am owned by a Bengal! The Bengal breed is a hybrid that was developed about 50 years ago by breeding an Asian Leopard Cat with a domestic cat. The two main marking varieties are spotted and marbled, but the colour range includes brown (most common), snow, silver and the newer, rarer blue. The most popular remains the brown spotted, famous for bringing the miniature leopard look into your front room, but until you have seen a really gorgeous blue-eyed snow marbled Bengal, you havent seen all the glory this breed can present. ... Well i came to have my two boys (Dylan & Monty) in June/July of last year. I actually only went to see a breeder with my sister as she was looking into breeding Bengals and I fell in love with a week old Monty. He is a brown spotted and was very very sweet. I decided I needed him as I hadnt had a cat since i moved out of home and my cat I had had for 17 years passed away. A few months passed and at the end of June Monty came to live with me. I didnt really know a lot about the Bengal breed, and by God I wish I had read up a bit more about them. Monty (as with most Bengals) do not like being on their own. And within 2 weeks I had decided to ... Read the complete review

As many of you probably already know we have turned our home into an animal rescue and although i dont realy specialise in cats we have aquired 3 bengal cats. These cats are not cheep to buy they can cost anything upwards of £200 so i find it hard to understand why people see fit to neglect and abandon something that cost so much to buy in the first place. Bengal cats in my oppinion are one of the most beautiful breeds of cats ever they have a very gentil and friendly nature, they enjoy the company of us and our children, looking after them is just the same as your usuall moggy, same nutritional requirements, exercise and ... We bought Derek, a blue-eyed snow, just over 2 years ago for £200, which is at the cheap end of the market for the rarer snow. A friend of a friend breeds them so he was a bit of a bargain. He`s spotted, as opposed to the marbled variety. He was a very energetic kitten and would wake us constantly at night if we let him in the bedroom so we shut ourselves in there and left him the rest of the flat. This had the advantage of allowing us a full night`s sleep, but when we let him back into the bedroom in the morning he`d occasionally be overcome with excitement and pee on the bed. He soon grew out of it, and with those few (4) exceptions he always used his tray. ... Read the complete review

I have been owned by Elton, my Bengal cat for just under two years now and I had to write to let other people know about this beautiful breed. Not only do these animals look stunning- just like a miniture leopard, they also have the most amazing temperament. Whereas cats are known for being aloof, this breed is as devoted as a dog - they will follow you to the toilet and even join you for a bath (they love water) I am almost convinced that elton thinks he is a dog as he too has a special toy (a soft miniture walrus) that we play fetch with - he will actually bring it back and drop it at your feet - which is cute until the 30th time and he still wants to play.
