I have always been a catperson, and have had many "moggies" and many pure breeds in my life so far. But now I am owned by a Bengal!

The Bengal breed is a hybrid that was developed about 50 years ago by breeding an Asian Leopard Cat with a domestic cat. The two main marking varieties are spotted and marbled, but the colour range includes brown (most common), snow, silver and the newer, rarer blue.

The most popular remains the brown spotted, famous for bringing the miniature leopard look into your front room, but until you have seen a really gorgeous blue-eyed snow marbled Bengal, you havent seen all the glory this breed can present.

Temperament wise they are unlike any other cat you will ever meet. They are highly intelligent cats, and I have been caught out more than once by my naughty boy opening the door to let himself into whichever room it is you were trying to keep him out of. They can also be very playful, and I have personal experience, and have heard of may other Bengals behaving very "dog-like" and play a game of "fetch" with you.

But most important they can also give you a lot of love and affection, and can be demanding of attention at times. If you wnat a quiet cat, a Bengal is definitely not for you, they like making their presence known to all the world loud and clear!

I am now truly owned by my Bengal boy, and can never imagine being without a Bengal in my life.....and if you have the space in your heart for an energetic bundle of love, get a Bengal today!
