Dangerous Product : Used Bob Martin Spot On on Friday a.m. 5th July 09 on my 10 year old Beagle (normally use Frontline) by Saturday a.m. she was itching and scratching so I bathed her in mild shampoo to remove as much residue as I could. By 10.00 pm on Saturday night (06/06/09) she was desperately poorly. Itching like crazy, panting, wheezing, ...

I put a Bob Martin flea collar on my elderly but very fit dog last year as we had an infestation of fleas. The next morning she seemed a little tired and struggled to get into the car, by lunchtime she was lying stretched out and couldn't get up. I removed the collar immediately and washed her neck area but sadly her back legs just kept giving ...

Seems that this is a common story!
Applied the all over 'silent' spray to both my 2 year old cats and one started frothing at the mouth. A hefty emergency vet bill later and we have two washed, grumpy, but most importantly alive cats.
Going to be a long night keeping an eye on them.
I'd stay clear from Bob Martin products if I were you. It's not worth the stress or cost in the long run - Just pay a little extra for a vet approved product!

PLEASE do not use this crap. It contains organophospates, which should never be used on animals. It also kills them. Please read this before using it: http://www.moggies.co.uk/articles/bob_martin.html I'm a student VN and have heard many horror stories from vets and VNs alike about these products. They also don't work. You ...

I bought a triple pack of Bob Martin 'Spot on' from my local supermarket as it was on special offer recently, however my Lhasa apso/cross has done nothing but itch, scratch & bite herself since I put it on her a fortnight ago. I have bathed her several times , but it has made no difference & her skin feels & looks hot & angry. My otherwise happy little dog is looking very sorry for herself & is now driving the whole family aswell as herself mad with the scratching. She definetly hasn't got any fleas as she is allergic to them so I have to be very vigilant. She is due to be bathed & groomed later this week at her usual groomer's where I will ask for advise, but if anyone can recommend anything else in the meantime I would be grateful.

hi everyone, we have just had a bad problem with our english bull terrier using bob martins spot on for dogs. we treated him last night at 10pm he was very well at 11.30 pm when we went to bed, we got up this morning and hes soooo ill, hes shaking so much, panting like hes ran 5miles just laying or sitting down hes normaily very hypo but but no today, we phoned the vet who & said what we had put on him last night, they said bring him straight down asap. hes now in the vets on a drip and going to have blood test all to mr bob martins products. we will let you know how he gets on as we know. DO NOT USE BOB MARTINS ITS A BIG RISK AT LOTS OF PEOPLES PETS HAVE DIED OVER IT.

DO NOT USE BOB MARTINS GENERAL FLEA SPRAY. Within hours of using on our 18 month old healthy cat Bluebelle, she was foaming at the mouth, shaking and fitting. We managed to get her to the vets very quickly where she was put on a drip and constantly monitored. She was given drugs to relax her and fortunately left the vets alive. Some four days later she is still far from her normal self, very tired and generally distressed. The vet told us this was certainly not an isolated case. We have reported this company to trading standards. The product should be withdrawn from sale by Bob Martin.
Trading standards T.0845 404 0506 PLEASE CALL THEM TO REPORT THIS COMPANY IF YOU HAVE HAD SIMILAR EXPERIENCES WITH THIS PRODUCT.

Last year I bought Bob Martin Flea Spray to de-flea my indoor cats. I followed the directions on the bottle down to a T, and within 2 minutes one of them was twitching and frothing at the mouth. Under instruction from the vet we tried to wash it off with the shower, not easy on a semi-convulsing cat. Seconds later she was running blindly into the ...

I used Bob martin Flea collars on my two cats Kasbha & Khan for 9 years but they had a very bad infestation last June and developed hair loss around the necks/collars. I took to vets and was told to immediately remove collars. Both had to be treated not only for fleas but for hair loss and neck sores. Now both have permanent hair loss, it will not grow back, only grey hairs around edge. Feel very guilty as my pure black boys have bare necks forever. DO NOT USE. Had to give a rating ignore

MULTI PURPOSE FLEA SPRAY. I used this yesterday: the cat is now at the Vets. He is lethargic, dribbling and with a very rapid heart beat. Hopefully this will clear, but I am advised that there might be liver and kidney complications. Do NOT use this product at all. I feel awful that I seem to have, unwittingly, poisoned my pet. This product is completely distrusted by vets and the like, yet it is sold from the supermarket shelf.
I hope the cat suffers no more than he has; I hope you read this and throw away the product; I hope more people get wind of this and the company goes into receivership.

Do not use Bob Martin Spot On. My beautiful fit & healthy 18 month old cat Pixie died in spite of the best efforts of my vet. She suffered severe epileptic fits . Family & veterinary staff ( who had witnessed the same circumstances at their practice only the week before )are left devastated . That such a lethal product is sold without any control whatsoever is unbelievable. I appeal to Bob Martin & retailers to withdraw the product before any further tragedies occur .
