Advantages: They give out lots of love
Disadvantages: Need lots of exercise
Border Collies, are by far my favourite breed of dog by a long shot. They are easily the most intelligent breed, you just have to look at their eyes to know that. They are working dogs, so they do require an awful lot of excercise, we take our Dog 'Gem' (naff name..I didnt choose it!!) for walks about 4 times a day, and even after that shes still full of energy. I dont think people should take on a Border Collie on as a pet, if they dont have the time to devote to them, they especially dont like being left on their own for long periods of time. Collies, are friendly with almost all dogs, and they are especially fond of children. Basically, they always want to play, and require an awful amount of attention. Although it sounds an awful lot of work (it is) it really does pay off, as you are guarenteed to have a chum for the rest of their life. After having a border collie, you dont really consider it a dog, you consider it a member of the family, as they are just so intelligent.
