For years we had an English Bull Terrier called Leo, I loved him because he used to terrify the neighbours! He never barked or anything at them but they were still scared of him because English Bull Terriers look so much different to other dogs. I was so sad when Leo died 2 years ago because he was a wicked companion and never any trouble, at ... Read the complete review

I have an english bull terrier who goes by the name of Harry. To be quite honest i didnt really know much about the breed (even though my step dad is an avid bull terrier fan!) Harry started life of as my mums pet as a puppy, he then got passed to my sister when she moved house, and now aged 7 he lives with me. Since having him i have learnt a bit ... I am writing this review as an owner of an almost 3 year old English bull terrier. I first decided to get an English bull terrier after hearing all the stories about my bull terrier that passed away when I was 1 years old. I obviously didn't remember him but I felt like I knew him due the amount of stories I heard about him. It seemed ... Read the complete review

A quick calculation on my fingers, unfortunately for me, states that I have either worked with or owned bull breeds for over thirty years - ouch! I figure that this does at least give me some experience on which to base my opinions, so here goes: I've known lots of Bull Terriers and generally speaking the poor souls are judged by their ... I am 15 years old and some people's views on 'vicious' dogs such as bull terriers disgust me. The small minded people who think these dogs are bad for society are clearly too pig-headed to give them a chance. People don't realise that, yes they were initially used as fighting dog's but come on! That's was years ago! GET OVER IT! Yes, ... Read the complete review

Right were do I start? i got my English about 5 months ago and he was in a terrible state when i got him they were feeding him the cheapest crappy food they could find (sorry for language) you could see all of his spine and ribs, they left the feces and pee on the floor so his skin and feet were red roar from it all, they would put down one ... *EDIT* Additional information to this review has now been added, with a great pet food recommendation that helped heal George's minor skin irritation.... We have just took charge of our 9 week old Bully, & what a surprise! Even after extensive research we were not fully prepared for his high energy levels & his obsession for ... I think david does not no the slightest thing about bull terriers. Our dog archie was bit by a labrador when he was just 5 months old. He is very good with kids and other dogs exccept black labradors. He is only 8 months old at the moment and responds to every one in a very good way. David really needs to look at the facts, because if you watch any dog programes you will very really see bullterriers on there all you will see is nasty little ankle biters or labradors, not that i have a problem with any other dogs myself. i bet your dog is perfect. You Idiot.

I Joined this group really answer the ill-informed comments of David. You talk about stereotypes, but ironically you are one yourself. I hear it all the time "My dog was attacked by one of them" (pointing at my Bully) I now quiz them on what breed he is, and they say, "He's a Staffordshire isn't he" or " A Pit-bull ... Staffie (Staffordshire Bull Terrier, for completeness) - We've had Dolly for nearly a year. Both Sara and I have kept dogs as long ago as we were both children. Neither of us ever had a Stafford. Dolly is a little belter. About 17 months old now and spayed (or speyed, your choice of spelling) six months back. She's a boisterous bundle ... Read the complete review

I have to say this is the best breed I have ever known and really not the easiest to train or handle. If you have the time, experience, will power and most of all patience, this dog will reward you with more love, devotion and protection than any other. I have had lived with and owned large breeds all my life including 10 stone rottweilers and giangantic german shepherds and the only dog that has ever shown any agression was a small yorkshire terrier that belonged to a friend. In short, my famiy and I are responsible owners who can control and train our dogs to be loving family pets. I am confident with my bully and know that he is not a dangerous dog. It is NEVER the dogs fault only irresponsible owners who have big dogs to look mean and tough.

I brought my bully snoop in 1999 because my boyfriend talked me into it. He's going to be 9 yrs end of feburary he's still in my life whereas the boyfriend didn't lasted til 03! I made sure i took him dog training as it was my first puppy[ i had previously a rescue belgian sherperd] i got snoop at 6 weeks. He has become my son's best friend he was 5 when we got snoop he's now 14. i made sure i didn't give in to his demands as its so easy to do when there cute little babe! i took him out for long walks off lead. They are not a breed for the meek minded. My friend as a white male boxer pup who comes to stay over they are great pals. trust him 100% with kids + cats.Only with male dogs with care needed.

I used these reviews to help make my mind up about taking on a rescued 1yr old English bull. We were a little concerned not knowing her full previous history and knowing she had had little contact with young children (youngest 2).The rescue centre were confident she would fit in and brought her round for an introduction, she never went back, the ... I just wanted to have my say, I have always had dogs in my life from small yappy dogs to my new 6-month-old English bull. Up to now none of the family including the 3 kids have come to any harm. with regards to Daves comment. are you really that ignorant. Do you not know that the highest percentage of dog attacks are by golden retreivers not 'Bull breeds'. In fact the Bull terrier has a very small attack ratio compared to other dogs. It is in fact a loyal companion who if brought up correctly becomes a valuable family ... Read the complete review

With all due respect to David's so called 'review' 11.09.07 and as a proud bullie owner. I would like to add "take it with a pinch of salt guys" the poor bloke obviously doesn't get out much....i do belive it's called narrow mindedness. Anyone who owns a big/strong dog and says "He is a big softy" is stereotypically stupid. The Bull Terrier for instance was bred to be a fighting dog - quote "To fight to the death". Therefore this dog is potentially, at worst, a killer of small children, at best, could cause serious harm to an adult. If we had a fully ... Read the complete review
