My Two Babies. (Cats in General)

Advantages: Two loveable companions that make us smile.

Disadvantages: A bit skittish because they were wild for a little while.

Two weeks ago my sister entrusted me with two 4 month-old kittens, both females. My sister lives in a different town than I do. And these kittens were living as strays until my sister got them. She did whatever was necessary to get them healthy before asking me to take them. She had been calling the calico ‘Sissy’ and the black and white was ‘Missy.’ That changed. Sissy is now ‘Tribble’ and ‘Missy’ is now ‘Timid.’

So far, they both have been pretty skittish. But they are improving. Tribble (formerly Sissy) is definitely the more friendly of the two and has been quicker about warming up to Bob (my husband) and I. She’s very playful and flirts with both of us-especially Bob. She is definitely going to be our character. Timid (formerly Missy) seems to need more time. She is very shy but really sweet. While she isn’t hiding behind the toilet nearly as much, she isn’t quite to the point of being as comfortable as her sister, Tribble. We figure Timid will be our more quiet cat. But who knows for sure? They might just surprise us.

We’ve been trying not to push them too much on anything. But we do try to make sure we pet and hold them as much as they will allow and that they have whatever they need. They are doing pretty good about playing with us more and coming out

So far it has been a pretty good experience. Given enough time, they will be okay. Sometimes waiting is the hard part. But we don’t mind doing it. They’re pretty sweet.
