Advantages: Friendly, Loverable, Best Friend

Disadvantages: Can Get Health Problems, Little Expensive, They Snore!!!

My little baby Brandy is now 6 months old and she is a gorgeous Cavalier King Charles Spaniel....

Brandy is our second Cavalier and I think she is a dog but am not 100% sure, I think she got it into her head that shes human! She certainly doesn't act like a dog thats for sure! Brandy is like my best mate, shes always there when I get home to fuss and love me to pieces. I have to pick her up and hug her before shes happy!

Brandy is a Blenheim Cavalier (tan & pearl) you can also get them in the Tricolour (black & perl)she has a gorgeous little face with perfect markings and those big brown eyes that make anyone melt with just one look!

As for her tempremeant well this is a very important feature to think about when choosing a dog for a pet, all I can really say about her is that if you know a woman.... then Brandy is no different shes a typical woman! she has mood swings the lot! She can be very clinging at time especially at night I have found... She hates to sleep alone and I know you really shouldn't let dogs sleep in bed with you but she has those eyes!!! Anyway yes she likes to sleep in bed but not just anywhere, she gets under the covers and snuggles up to my leg and sometimes I will wake up to find her head almost on my shoulder and I always have my arm round her! she just loves to cuddle and shes so cute I cant say no!
Even in the day if I sit on the sofa she will come and jump up and snuggle up to me or sit on my knee.... So as you can probably tell shes very loveable and needs alot of love and hugs!

As well as being loveable she is very playful, but then again most puppies are, shes has tonnes of toys and has to play with them all at once! This playfulness can lead to some mischief... if anything goes missing in our house we have to search the garden and all round the house because shes probably taken then. Her favourites are pens and socks ave no idea why but she will do anything to get a pen, jump onto chai
rs then onto tables if she has too! As well as these she has been watching to much TV and am sure she thinks she is the Andrex puppy... If the bathroom door is open then you can guaranty that the toilet roll will be flying round the house she grabs the ends and just runs till the roll is out...

Most of this playfulness is puppy stuff, I promise they do calm down a little our last dog Rusty sadly past away in January but once he got over his puppy stage he was a little angel unlike Brandy the little devil... lol

These dogs are most definitely people dogs, they are so friendly and if we go out anywhere shee just wants to fuss and play with everyone! She can be a little scared and you will find this with the older dogs they like to make sure the person whose fussing them is ok first!

The most crazy thing about Brandy is that she loves to stand on 2 legs, she will run around the garden trying to catch butterflies or what ever she sees to do this she will run and then go up on her back legs and jump around, she looks so cute when she does this and her yap is just as bad... just cute but not fully formed!!

As for dinner time... well it can be quite expensive to feed a dog, at the moment Brandy eats a lot of dried food, but she also loves Pedigree Chum puppy food. She doesn't eat all that much really because shes only little... but as she gets older her food intake will increase.

With all this food shes needs exercise, regula walks are a must for any dog, and with her she does love her walks... even if she does yap at every car that goes passed us!! With her being so playful shes always running round the house and garden so this gives her plenty of exercise too, so shes pretty fit all round!

Cavalier's are known to have health problems, there heart is known to be one of the biggest problems. Cavalier are quite prone to heart murmurs, Rusty our last dog had a very slight heart murmur for quite a while but this
doesn't mean that they cant lead a perfectly normal life.
As with any pet you have vets bills, these can mount up if your pet needs regular medication or any kind of surgery, this is the same for any pet though.

As I said Brandy is 6 months now and she has just started to lose some of her puppy hair and I think Cavalier's malt pretty much all year round so ya have to make sure they get regular baths and brushes to get rid the dead hair and to stop it getting all over the place! There is nothing nicer to see then when she has had a bath and dry and brush, she looks like a little stunner and she knows it!!

These dogs dont really come very cheap as you will be buying a Pedigree dog Brandy was £350 because Cavalier's are only a small bread of dogs, this is a little different to £700 for large dogs such as huskies etc..
If you are looking to buy one then I strongly suggest you buy from a breeder, the best way to find breeders is by sending for a puppy pack from the Kennel Club, they will send you a pack with all the breeders for the dog you want. The breeders are for all over the country and they send you all of them telling you what they have available and when.
We sent off for the pack and travelled about 30miles to see Brandy, we saw her when she was just 3 weeks old, she sat in the palm of my hand and her ears were no bigger then the end of a little finger, we fell in love with her then and there even though there was about 8 to pick from, but somehow I knew she was the one. We paid a small deposit for her and then when she was 8 weeks old and ready to leave her mum we went back to collect her, she hadn't grown to much and was still the sweetest thing I have ever seen!!

I love Brandy to pieces she is always with me and is my little baby, unfortunately she knows that she has me just where she wants me because I melt at her eyes! but you do have to be ferm with her and if she is a naughty girl you just have to le
t her know but not to harshly ... usually all I have to do now is give her a certain look and she knows shes done wrong, when this happens she will go hide in her basket until dinner time!! lol

These dogs are also great with children, they are not nasty in anyway and will love a child like it is its own...

All in all these dogs are wonderful, friendly, good with people, playful, and very loyal and loveable... they make a very good best friend for anyone and also a very cute little baby!! :D

I've got two monster labrador shit machines that started out as cute adorable little things. Just like Andrex pups they were!
Now they fart, scratch and snore with the best of em .....
