Lhasa Apso ... dog with a big personality! This is not a pet for the faint hearted, they may be cute and adorable-looking dogs but if you re not prepared to be leader of the pack they will end up being in charge. They are very strong-willed and see themselves as the protector of the household. They do not usually respond well to training, you need to work hard to earn the respect of these wonderful little dogs - they appreciate firm, positive leadership - when you have their respect however, you have a friend for life. I have had 2 previous Lhasa Apsos and have found that every time, toilet training has taken a lot longer than with other dogs, persistence is the key with this and lo... Boxer ... love of dogs* I am a dog lover, big dogs, little dogs, any shape, size or age. I not one of these people that only love puppy s, I believe a dog is not just for xmas, its for life . As a youngster we had our first dog during my early years at school. It was a beautiful mongrel named Prince . Unfortunately for us my mum and dad worked full time and struggled to juggle things around to make sure that our loyal friend had someone at home with him most of the day. There was not problem with us loving him it was just we finding it difficult to give him the attention he deserved. Poodle ... is by far the best breed of dog we have had to date. We have a Toy Poodle, which my brother named Scampy, he is an Apricot coloured male with a fantastic personality. Size In all the books it says toys should only grow to 11inch but ours has grown a little beyond that so he does look a bit gangly. My nan has his sister, named Bonnie, and she is a third of the size. So, if you want a really small poodle a girl is your best bet. Temperament Scampy has been very easy to train with basic comands, he sits, lies down, gives his paw etc almost instantly (especially if he knows there is a treat at the end of the act) but he does have his moments where he acts like he can t...
