Goldfish as a pet

I would recommend a goldfish to anyone who would like to own a pet but don't have time to look after one as they don't need much attention. They are suitable for anyone who has children who want a pet but don't have time or money to look after them because they are cheap to look after as you only have goldfish food which costs around £3 and lasts ages as you only need a sprinkle every other day.

You can keep goldfish in cold water and it is recommend when you buy your goldfish (which usually comes in a bag of water) to leave the bag inside the water closed for around 20 minutes then open the bag to let the fish swim free this is to get the fish used to the temperature of the water and doesn't get a shock.

Cleaning out the fish tank is easy it is recommended that when the water gets slightly dirty to just change half of it so that you don't have to lift the fish out which makes it easier. You can get fish tanks in all different sizes and you can decorate it in different colours of stones and decorations which is fun to do.

Goldfish are relaxing to watch but if you are looking affection from your pet like cats or dogs I wouldn't recommend them but if you are happy to watch them move which I find relaxing I would recommend these. Goldfish are cheap to buy from around £2 upwards and you can get them at your local petshop.
