I just love fish. I could spend an entire day sitting there watching them. Watching them swim about is just so relaxing! I have 4 goldfish and 2 shubunkins and they're just great! I used to have a whole range of cold water fish. I had some orandas and some blackmoors which were also cool but they all caught fin rott and died :o( and ... Read the complete review

The last Goldfish that I had, was called 'Jaws'. I won him on one of those stupid fairground stalls, and was very excited that finally I had a pet goldfish. I took him home, borrowed an old fish tank off my next door neighbour, and placed him proudly on my shelf. I was very happy with 'Jaws'..I finally had a pet to call ... Read the complete review

Every year I attend various fairs and summer fetes. At many of these I see stalls with goldfish as prizes. The fish are generally confined into a small plastic bag, half filled with what I presume is tap-water. I also see both adults and children, some very young, wandering around, clutching these bags with fish in. ... Read the complete review

I guess everyone has suffered the sadness of winning a goldfish at a fair and then seeing it die a couple of days later. I suggest you buy your fish (at least three) from a reputable dealer (ideally a fish breeder) and if intending to keep them indoors in a tank allow one inch of tank length for every inch of fish ie a tank 12 inches ... I beleive goldfish do have personalities, ok, maybe not very interesting ones, but they do have them. One of my sisters pet fish for example, is gay. Instead of swimming across the tank, he minces, and I'm sure he would be happier in pink, darrrling. Fish in tanks are very relaxing too, why else would they have them in ... I think goldfish make great pets, first of all they are cheap to buy, you can get cheap fish tanks and they are very cheap to look after. They are great pets for those who live in small houses or flats, or for those who rent and are not allowed pets - fish will usually be overlooked. They are also very relaxing, far more tranquil to ... Read the complete review

Personally i've never really seen the attraction of having fish as pets. Of course that dosn't mean i havn't had them. They are good pets for children because they don't take much looking after and its a good small pet to start teaching children the responsibility of looking after animals. However, fish don't tend to ... Read the complete review
