There appears to be a great deal of history and latin being banded about, so I am going to get back to basics; here are the top tips I have learnt outside of the normal guinea pig channels, a survival guide if you will, and I'll relate this back to the point of it all, the REVIEW. A review suggests a critical analysis need be conducted. ... Read the complete review

Staple children's pets everywhere, the guinea pig, less commonly known as the cavy, are members of the rodent family, and are quite closely related to chinchillas. Unusually for mammals, their young are born after a long gestation already fully furred, able to see and move. I would describe what they look like but I'm sure you've seen one of these ... Guinea Pigs made fantastic pets for adults and children alike, although they need alot more care than most people think. *Housing* Firstly Guinea Pigs need a large enclosure- either indoors or outside. If kept inside they will need a special cage, which is much like a hamster cage but obviously much larger. The other way of ... Read the complete review

Guineapigs, or cavies, are very popular choices for people as pets and they can be very fun, friendly and relatively easy to care for so a good choice. However, there are various aspects of guineapig care which need to be adhered to by pet owners and so please feel free to read my report on guineapig care. Guineapigs should be kept in pairs ... All throughout my childhood, my brother and I kept guinea pigs. We had four in total and one year, we even bred them and kept one of the babies. Many people think of guinea pigs as ideal pets. This is not surprising as they are endearing, affectionate animals that easily attract us with their charm and their cute little noises. But ... Read the complete review

A guineapig, yes a great pet if you have a lot of time to give them care and affection, However not so great if they havent been handled from an early age. If you have your mind set on buying guineapigs then DO NOT buy from a pet shop as these wont have been held and therefore tamed. Instead, buy from a private owner if possible who's ... My husband reckons I'm reliving my childhood, either that or I'm just getting broody. Instead of having more children, I've found myself a few furry friends, I'd love a dog except for one thing, I'm absolutely terrified of them. A cat would be quite nice, but I'm allergic to them, so I started with a hamster. He's very cute and all mine, but he ... Read the complete review

Guinea Pigs are great. They can live upto 10 years or even more. I would recommend that older children 12+ and adults could enjoy these little fury creatures. I would not recommend a guinea pig being a pet for any younger because they can be dropped or used as toys and this could hurt or even kill the guinea pigs. I would always recommend buying ... Milton and Eddie have lived with me for just over a year. Milton is a sandy coloured smooth haired boy weighing about 1200gms, and Eddie is a black-and-tan rosette guinea weighing in at roughly 1200gm. Some people aren't pet people, some aren't bothered but will keep fish due to their low maintenance. Pet lovers will normally have more than one species of animal. We all have been slaves to our GPs. I have had them since I was young and am now in my late 20s. My husband became a convert in 1997 when we bought Toffee and Fudge. As a general rule you can not keep two boars in the same hutch but after speaking to an expert we learnt that if you buy two young men then they grow up believing they are brothers. ... Three years after I originally wrote this OP I feel it is time for a review. In 2004 I went to a local rescue to find a hamster and came home with yes, you guessed it, a rescue guinea pig. Hello my name is Merlin and I am a guinea pig. I used to live in a shop with some friends until I met Mr & Mrs Phoenix who gave my owner some coloured pieces of paper and then put me in a cardboard box.
