I acquired my first hamster around a year ago. What a delight he is. My view of hamsters has changed since owning one myself. Previously, I merely thought of them as rodents and thats about it. However upon having one myself, I have seen that they are much more than merely rodents. Each has its own personality which is fascinating to watch. How a tiny little animal can bring someone so much joy is amazing. Whilst many I have heard are quite anti social and in some cases vicious, mine is nothing like that at all. He is dosile and gentle and even gives me cuddles. He sits on me and watches the television, he has a fondness of dried bananas and peanuts, and he is fascinated by the laptop upon which he tries to climb on and watch the screen. Hamsters are not only rodents, they are a great pet that are a delight to have. There are several different species, and each is beautiful in their own way. I think we should take time to see the smaller things in life, and that includes hamsters. Let us celebrate the joy of hamsters and bring one into your home.
