Christmas is on the way and if your family is anything like mine, the requests for Wiis, XBOXes, DSes and other unpronouncable electronic consumables are flooding in faster than you can say 'Santa has a bit of a painful overdraft'. I have had hamsters for as long as I can remember. They make a great companion and a loving addition to any household! The hamsters I have had over the years have all had very different personalities. I've had many hamsters in my life - I've loved every one of them. All my hamsters have been Syrians - they make excellent pets which I've been told can't be said for dwarves. For very little care and attention they'll provide you with hours of affection. They're also really funny at times and are, of course, the cutest things you'll ever ... Read the complete review

Hamsters are the perfect childhood gift... until it comes to hugging. Hamsters are quite an easy pet for children to take care of, with or without supervision. I acquired my first hamster around a year ago. What a delight he is. My view of hamsters has changed since owning one myself. Previously, I merely thought of them as rodents and thats about it. However upon having one myself, I have seen that they are much more than merely rodents. Each has its own personality which is fascinating to watch. How a ... Read the complete review

Hamsters are a great present for a young child - less fussy than rabbits, kept inside and hardy souls! However, they are a bit smelly so have to be cleaned out a lot, like to burrow in sawdust so it ends up everywhere in your room and also, most importantly, sleep in the daytime so only wake up as young kids go to sleep, not ideal! They do also ... Read the complete review
