Advantages: doesn't deteriorate in the heat
Disadvantages: a bit pricey
miaaaaaaaow! We three got a bit hacked off with the human buying us whiskas pouches, after all there is only so much leeway you can give them, isn't there. Next thing you know they try to palm you off with a tin of disgusting fish bones or something. We settled on a trial period of bringing home our own dinner, and sure enough "she" went off to some place (I think its a supermarket or a pet shop) and came back with this large orange bag, and a smaller purple one. She was bumping her gums a bit about the price, which was £12.95 for 3kg chicken variety, and the small purple bag, which apparently cost £2.15 and which was a delicious fish flavour. At this point "Human" got a bit narked, cos we (me - Smudge - and Ellie) wanted to eat the purple fish stuff, and she was ranting about it was only for the little one! (Personally I refuse to call anyone "Pepsi" however old they are - I need to think about referring the human to the RSPCA on this matter). It seems that the small bag, which is available in fish or chicken flavours, is intended for kittens aged up to one year old, as the biscuits are smaller and easier to chew. I promise you I can grovel with the best, being seven now, but she threatened to put me on the "senior" variety if I didn't put up and shut up, which is a bit much at my age, if you don't mind. Now where was I - oh yes. We decided we would give it a try, and my dears, it is absolutely delicious. We keep her on the hop a bit, changing our minds from time to time about which one we will eat. Well, you have to don't you, to stop them getting complacent. So to reprise...Bags are available in 300g 1k and 3k packs. In fish, lamb and chicken varieties, and also aimed at specific age groups, lite, standard and senior. We don't worry about the cost too much, but she expects to pay around £2.20 for a small bag, around £5.25 for the 1K pack and appr
ox £13.00 for the large one,(3K). In the summer months she is happy because she doesnt throw away the revolting stuff that goes all mucky in the heat, although she still whinges from time to time about the cost. Some humans are never happy! Of course, with three of use to feed she has to replace it fairly often, but we don't let that bother us too much. We get her to supplement our diet with a tin of tuna a couple of times a week (in brine, of course) but she says we mustn't have it too often because it is too high in protein and affects our kidneys. We do look the bees knees. Our coats are immaculate and we are all very contented. Of course, she is taking all the credit for our efforts to get her to see reason about our dietary needs! We get our own back by being extremely lively these days - so I am off now to chase a few birds or butterflies. It is time I bought her a small present to keep her sweet. UPDATE: The human took the "unmentionable one" off to the vet person yesterday, because he is a tetesterone loaded teenager. I expected him to come back and give me some peace for a couple of days, but Oh no!! There he is rushing up and down trees at 8.am this morning. That flaming Iams has a lot to answer for! Miaaaaaaaaaaaow
