We've had Pickles, our Jack Russell for eight years and although he is slowing down a bit is still a great character. He is brown and black, and is very intelligent, and has such knowing eyes,I sometimes think he reads our minds.

We had him from a puppy, and was not a great chewer of things in the house, unlike two other dogs we had.He did pull a lot on the lead, but I found the way to stop that was to pull him back facing the other way and then turn him round again, when he realised who was master. He walks now with little problems apart from seeing other cats!

They do eat dog foods and biscuits, but they quickly work out that the family eat things more interesting than they do,best to not to give them too many tit bits,or you;ll have a problem them eating their own food.

They are VERY teritorial. We did manage to introduce another J.R though when he was seven, but that was a puppy, they are now friends, but Pickles has slowed down.

They do not like postmen, one of the worst offenders for going after them;keep them under view at all times,as we found out.I bribed him with whisky after an encounter with a postie.

Would I recommend a Jack Russell.Yes,definitely!
