Advantages: Great with children, easy to train, little dogs.

Disadvantages: You need eyes in the back of your head, can be naughty!

Having sadly lost my dog last November, I and our other dog Jess were deeply upset. I had mentioned when my sister first got her Jack Russell how great she is with my son and how cute she is, needless to say he brought me a Jack Russell puppy home a few weeks later. Luna is now very much part of our family although extremely mischeivous but with a face as cute as hers you can't tell her off.

Now Jack Russells are typically used for hunting and ratting but they are now becoming a popular choice of pet. The name terrier should be taken into account because they are little terrors, for instance I got up this morning to find Luna had emptied the washing basket to find one of my sons cuddly toys which she cuddled up to, not bad you might think but these dogs molt quite badly during summer!

I have already mentioned how great these dogs are with children but they are also great with other animals too, they are easy to train so long as you have the time to spend with them and they are a pleasure to walk.

Jack Russells don't grow a great deal in size, around 10-15 inches, they cost anything from £50 to £300 and come in a variety of colours, tri-coloured being most popular which is brown, black and white. The colours you will get with a Jack Russell are brown, black and white.

Jack Russells are a fantastic little dog, a pleasure to be around.
