Jack Russell Terriers are species within the Terrier breed, they are not purebred or pedigree in the way that they've a broad range of genetics that do not make a pedigree. This is because Jack Russell's have strictly been bred for hunting since around 1800. The breed is made up of such breeding of different types and sizes to make such a unique working terrier.

The Jack Russell Terrier gets their name from the man: Reverend John Russell who bred one of the finest strains of these terriers for working fox in Devonshire, England.

Jack Russell terrier can come in all shapes and sizes and colors. They are mainly tan and white or black and white, but do come in black and tan, black tan and white.

They are very small dogs but they have such big personalities. I recently got a Jack Russell Puppy - Rosie - she is nuts. She's so tiny and small but her personality is so great, she is really friendly and I was so happy I got her.

Some people feel JR are yappy dogs, but they're not, dependant on how you bring them up. Rosie will only bark in scared or really excited. She won't do it just for attention.

I never thought I'd own a Jack Russell, but they are just perfect.
