In feathered robes the choir collects; shuffling, rustling, warbling erratically until one Singer interjects... "I am a common guest at houses around the globe, yet I am seldom noticed in my drab and earthy robe. Appearances are deceiving, and size is no measure of worth. Accept no less than your true value for nobility can be found in those of basest birth. Awaken and give voice to joy that wells from heart and throat! Assertion, humility, co-operation and hard work will help you hit the highest notes." The next voice arises like an amiable shout. This ... Read the complete review

We brought our house in 2003, the house was up for sale because jack the previous owner had died, we brought the house from his daughter. When we first went to view the house there was a large woooden shed at the top of the garden with a raised hole in the roof, i asked what this was and she explained that jack had kept his eagle owl in there. She offered to have the wooden shed removed but we said we would keep it, thinking that i could chande the roof and use it as storage for the mower, etc As we moved in october i didnt bother to do anything with it as it was too cold but in march i went out to start having a look at it to my horror to find jacks ... Cut-Throat Finches is one of the largest members of the group growing just over 5 inches long. you can notice this bird by the bright red patch across the throat of the cock bird. i have to advise that these birds are not recommended for companians of other small birds as they tend to be aggressive. They can be housed in groups of there own kind or on their own or you can keep them with java sparrows which are of the same size. these birds are easy to breed and tend to pair up well as long as suitable nest box is provided. Dont breed these birds through the winter because these birds are prone to egg binding which can be a result in chilling. Provide plentl ... Read the complete review

First of all I apologise if any of you feel this opinion is in the wrong category, but after having a good look around the site I did not know where else I could put it. Many of you that have read some of my previous ops know that I am both an animal lover and a keen bird feeder. There is however one bird I do not recommend feeding at all- the Seagull. I know it sounds hypocritical but if you've ever been on the wrong side of these birds you will understand why. They are scavengers and that is basically in their nature but it is made much worse when they are fed by human hand. How many people do you see on visits to the seaside feeding ...
