Advantages: Very sociable, very cute

Disadvantages: Need alot of love and care - time factor involved.

Rabbits are small mammals that live in the british countryside but are now often kept as pets.
Rabbits can be kept outside in a hutch that is at least big enough for the animal to make 3-4 hops across and also tall enough so that the rabbit can stand on his hind legs without touching the roof of the hutch. All rabbits need a place to exercise daily. This basic need is often satisifed by having a large run attached to the hutch so that the rabbit can choose whether they want to play and run outside or shelter in their hutch.
All rabbits need a constant supply of water, especially when the weather is hot. They also need a good supply of food. The main diet of a rabbit is hay and an average rabbit should be eating about their body size in hay and grass each day. The hay should be supplemented by a small amount of pellets each day to ensure that the rabbit gets all the nutrients it needs. Most rabbits will also appreciate a small amount of fresh vegetables each day as well. However it is important to introduce fresh grass and vegetables slowly as it may have an adverse effect on the rabbits tummy.
Rabbits are also very sociable creatures. Every rabbit needs daily time to be sociable, either with another rabbit or an adult. (Rabbits and guinea pigs should not be kept together though!)
Some people choose to keep their pet rabbit as an indoor house bunny. It is important to remember that whether the rabbit is kept inside or out it still needs to same basic things - shelter, exercise, food, drink and company.

Summary: Rabbits are fantastic pets
