Advantages: Perfect cats
Disadvantages: None
I grew up in a house were furry pets were a dream because of my Mum and Sister being badly asthmatic and allergic to fur. My dream was to have a cat or a dog as soon as was possible. My Husband and I live in a flat and had therefore decided that we would not be making any such purchases until we could afford to buy a house! Well that all changed on my birthday this year (April) when my husband took me out for 'a drive' the weekend before and we ended up outside a house in Southsea. He took me in to this strangers lounge and asked me to pick two! Two what you might ask yourself, two kittens!!!!!!!!!!! He had scoured the internet to find the perfect breed to be kept indoors and Ragdolls answered all of his questions. Alot of the pedigree breeders will not sell to people that live in houses where the cats will be allowed out on their own. The reason for this is that A) If someone shows them any affection the cats are so silly that they will follow them home and not be able to work out where they came from and B) They are silly enough to just trot out infront of an oncoming car. My boys Joey and Jake are twin brothers and are the most adorable bundles of fun you can ever imagine. They are semi-long hair which unlike persians do not need constant brushing as it does not matt. However, my two bring me the comb because they just love the attention of being brushed. They are very loving aswell as mischevious, and once they get to know you, you will not be able to go anywhere in the house without being followed, they will even sit by the side of the bath whilst you are in it. They also have the tendency of sitting by your ankles and if they want to be played with they just fling themselves on their backs so that you can rub their tummies. They purr louder than the tv when they sit on your laps, and are just the most perfect cats in the world. Although a bit pricey they are well worth every penn
y. They will chill you out when you get home from work feeling stressed and just make your home a happy one.

- 03/07/02 These sound like lovely cats, as a household with two birmans it sounds very much like our household. A big thumbs up to any op which introduces these amazing and underrated breeds to the general community - VU |
