Advantages: the most beautiful cats

Disadvantages: need a lot of company and attention

I love cats and think i will always have them in my life. I was given two cats when I was younger, but unfortunately they have both died now. When I move out of my parents I begged my boyfriend to buy me a kitten.

I decided that I wanted to get a pedigree cat, I knew roughly what I wanted but decided to look on the internet. As soon as I read up about Ragdolls I knew I had to have one.

We eventually found our kitten and a few weeks later brought her home.

She was white in colour and had a black face and black paws. She didnt look long haired as a kitten and I kept thinking she would grow up with short hair, but she didn't. The first night she slept in bed with us, from the second we got into bed she was there and she slept in between us, by our heads. We didnt dare move all night as were scarred of rolling onto her! she slept right through and only got up when we did.

Ragdolls are so loving, they just love to be around humans, and when we leave her at home, we get back and she is waiting by the front door and just craves our attention. Shes not a lap cat, but will come and lay next to you, or sometimes likes to lay on my chest right by my face while im sleeping, which is sweet but you can only take a few minutes of it!

Shes very playful too, but in quite a gentle way. The reason they are called ragdolls is for the way they go all floppy when picked up. She loves to be held like a baby and cuddled, and sometimes you will walk in a room and shes lying upside down!

As she got older, she will be 2 this year, her coat went from being almost pure white to going more of a beige colour, with much darker patches. I think it will continue to develop too as she gets older.

The other thing abot Ragdolls is there size. My friend got a kitten at the same time as me, just a moggy, both kittens were born days apart. but Sassy grew much faster than the moggy, by the time she was 6 months she was nearly twice his size! She is now a really big cat, much bigger than the cats i had previously. Females can grow to be 10-15lb and males 15-20lb, Sassy is just over 10lb, and the vet says she is overweight, but i still doubt this now! as she is just a big cat, there doesnt seem to be that much fat on her.

they tend to have blue eyes, and there long fur tends to stay matte - free, so only requires brushing about once a week, which she loves!

They are lovely cats and I will always have one, I am planning to get another soon so Sassy has a friend. if you want a cat that isnt independent like most cats and is very loving, then this is definitely the cat for you!
