Advantages: great pets even for children

Disadvantages: quite large and expensiv cage

When my partner said he wanted a rat as a pet freaked ot an refused to go with him to buy them. However when he returned home i wonder what i had been so worried about as while he set up their new home i connected with our new pets Flash and Snitch. I must admit that these animals are the smartest pets i have ever had my partner has even taught them to play football, which i may add he couldn't even manage to teach my dog.

The rats are easy to care for the only expense is the cage which cost around £100. The easiest way to care for them is to buy them plenty of tubes and toys, cover the base of the cage wth cat litter and supply them a nice little home to sleep in.

The rats can live in pairs mainly but be careful as i have ehard about a dominant rat killing its partner in the cage to get the cage to itself. I would talk to an expert if you are thinking of having more than one.

Overall these wonderful animals have really changed my mind about their species in whole as they are intelligent, clean and very friendly.
