Our Westie Elsa is now 10 years old and is a very lovable dog. She is great company and the breed is great for people who cannot have a dog which requires a lot of exercise. Elsa gets taken for a short walk just once a day and it is plenty.
She is very friendly and is great with children, even young babies.
She is however very noisy and barks at animals or noise on the television. She once scared away burglars!
She also attacks and eats the post as it is coming through the letterbox and so we have to beat her to the postman.
A great bonus is that she doesn't lose her hair but it means she has to have a hair cut every 3 months which cost £15 each. She is also now suffering with ill health now she is older and so the vets bills are getting higher. She has twice burst blood vessels in her ears and had to have them drained and as Westie's have naturally dry skin, she suffers frequently with an excema type condition which requires special shampoo and treatment from the vet.
Overall she is a great pet and has provided 10 years of great fun for her owners.
