Advantages: They are a friendly and easy to care for breed

Disadvantages: They require clipping from time to time

The West Highland White Terrier is more commonly known as the westie. The westie is a common breed as it is easily cared for and can be picked up if neccessary for whatever reason. The westie is a small dog and is only about 28cm in height whenh measured at the withers. The male westies should weight about 8.5kg and the females should weigh in at 7.5kg.
The westie is relatively easy to care for as they require only a small amount of exercise however they do require regular grooming and baths because due to the white coat the coat becomes dirty very easily. They also require clipping from time to time to keep the coat looking neat and tidy.
The westie is one of the many breeds that make an ideal family pet because they are active and friendly and enjoy company and attention whilst still being an easy to care for breed.

Summary: Westies make an ideal family pet.
