      Very helpful

Great value for x 2 neat little albums

I wanted to get my dear wee Daddy a really special present this Christmas, so I had one of those lovely leather bound online photo albums done especially for him, full of old and new special family memories.

With my purchase I also got 40 free 6x4 prints. Great, I thought, that's Baron Spanielmeister's pressie sorted! Hahahah!

      The photos

As an aspiring toff and self-styled Ernest Hemmingway type, the Baron has literally thousands of photos of himself showing off, and it wasn't hard to find 40 good ones to have printed. The idea was to put them in a little pocket-sized album, that he could whip out at the easiest opportunity, to make sure no-one missed any photographic evidence of his adventures.

      Which album?

It was actually really difficult to get a plain bog stand photo album for 40 pics. Many were for wedding or baby photos, or were flowery and girly - or had enough space for 500 photos. I tried all sorts of stationery stores, ebay, Amazon, everywhere but couldn't get what I wanted.

      Asda had the answer!

Just on the off chance I nipped into Asda at lunch and spotted exactly what I was looking for - a little pocket-sized photo album. Even better it was just £1 - and doubly better - you got two in the pack!

Each album is very simple: the cover is plain back card enclosed in plastic and the pages are clear pockets with small dividers for putting photos in each side. The dividers have tiny dimples in them to stop them sticking to the covers. This made a slight imprint on the covers but it disappeared and the covers went nice and smooth once the photos were inserted.

The photo size they hold is 6x4 and the album holds 36 photos. Since I had 40, I improvised a bit and made a discreet little incision with sharp scissors along the inside crease of the cover (don't try that at home kids!) and was able to insert my extra photos on both outside and inside covers.

The result was a great little neat album that weighed little more than the photos themselves.

The quality is fine for what I paid and the album suited my needs exactly.

Not sure what I'm going to do with the spare one - perhaps the Baron will be so impressed he'll commission another!

Of course, this is just going to be a stocking filler. He is also going to get an apple and orange in each toe, possibly a can of coke and if he is very good a Chocolate Orange!

Thanks for reading & Merry Christmas dooyooers!
