A nice album for boys or girls

When Jayden was born we received a few photo albums as gifts, these were going to be handy for keeping all of our scan pictures and photos of him in, being diabetic I had a lot of scans and got a picture every time so I was looking for something to keep these in, the photo albums mean I can safely store and display all of my photos from my first scan picture right up to now. One of the photo albums we received as a gift was the Baby Photo Album from Argos.

The Baby Photo Album came in plain packaging consisting of a plain white cardboard box with the name of the product on and it may have also had a picture of the product on it, however the packaging was thrown out several weeks ago. The photo album is unisex so would make an ideal gift for someone whether they had a boy or a girl, it is a square album and is made from a cream coloured leather material. On the front of the album is a silvery coloured metal plaque, this is divided up into squares and has the letters A, B, C, D on it and in the other squares there is a duck, a train, a teddy, a rocking horse and a boat, these are in the same colour metal as the plaque and are textured. Around the edge of the metal plaque is a boarder, which is a triangle pattern with flower shapes dotted around it, again this is in the same cream leather material as the album and is slightly raised and textured. The Baby Photo Album also has cream coloured stitching going all around the edge of it, this is on the front and back of the album, although the back of the album is just plain cream leather, there is not design on this at all. The spine of the album is covered with a chunky strip of silvery coloured metal to match the plaque on the front, this has ridges going all the way down it.

The Baby Photo Album measure 18(H), 19.5(W), 5.5(D)cm meaning it is not too bulky to store but at the same time is of a decent size to hold your photos. The album will hold 100 6 x 4inch photos, the pages inside are made from a thick paper and are yellow and covered with silhouettes of things like teddies, ducks, rocking horses and so on, all things associated with babies, these are in a darker almost orange colour. The majority of each page is covered with a clear plastic cover which is what protects the photos, each photo can be slotted into the sleeve from the inner side of each page. At the bottom of each page are 3 lines which allow you to write under each picture what it is or the date etc. Whilst there are only 3 lines to write on these go the whole width of the page so there is plenty of room to describe what each picture is should you wish. The paper that the pages are made from is a good thickness which means that when you write on the pages the ink does not soak through to the following page, although I stick to using a biro to write in albums just in case.

As I have mentioned the Baby Photo Album is available in Argos, I'm not sure if this can be purchased anywhere else, it is sold for £19.99. Personally I feel this is a reasonable price for this item, it is very well made and looks stylish. The album is of a decent size so you do get a lot of photo space for your money. I would be prepared to pay this for this item should I be purchasing it as a gift for someone.

Overall I would recommend the Argos Baby Photo Album, it makes an ideal gift for someone who has just had a baby, the cream and silver colours means that it is suitable for both boys and girls and the alphabet and toy designs on it make it perfect for you baby's first photos. The album is very well made and will last a long time, it does not feel flimsy or like it will fall apart if it is looked through too many times. The plastic sleeves inside are of a good size so that all of your pictures will be fully covered and protected.

The Baby Photo Album is sold for a reasonable price and well worth the money as you really do get a good quality item. The size of the album is ideal as you can store a lot of photos without it being too bulky and there is also space to label each photo should you wish. I would certainly recommend this item and would also purchase it in the future as a gift for someone myself.
